Should you learn how to program?
Learning how to program is going to take a lot of time and dedication, no matter what language you want to learn. There are many people that are familiar with just about every major progamming language, from desktop-based C++ applications to server side scripts in javascript and PHP. To get to this level it would probably take you a few years. However, if you are brand new to programming, you may just want to learn a simple language like PHP and then expand from there. You’ll also want to think about how a knowledge of programming is going to help you – what are you going to use it for? If you are primarily a marketer, then it would probably be easier to just outsource your programming.
To learn programming languages, you’ll need to read through tutorials, and thankfully there are several excellent tutorials online. The w3 schools website is one of the best. You’ll also probably want to get a real book on programming. The best way to learn is to learn the theory, and then spend a lot of time practicing yourself by writing simple applications/scripts. Many people actually enjoy programming and coming up with the best solution for something.
Naturally, even if you don’t understand programming, a knowledge of how computers and Windows works is essential for pretty much anyone in any profession. If you are an internet marketer, then you’ll need at least a basic knowledge of servers and hosting, even if you don’t know how to program.
