Garmin’s new nuvi 1200 and 1300 series Auto GPS Navigators

Garmin recently introduced a new series of nuvi portable GPS devices named the 1200 and 1300 series. They are supposedly much slimmer than previous nuvi models thus making them really handy.

These 4.3 inch widescreen Garmin nuvis feature slim housing. Recent manufacturing processes has allowed Garmin to produce new lines of Garmin products like this Garmin nuvi 1370T as well as the Garmin nuvi 1260T that are 25% slimmer than previous models. They all come with enhanced user interface, public transit mode, ecoRoute, and text-to-speech.

These new Garmin series navigators are also the first nüvi devices to offer pedestrian navigation capability enabled through optional CityXplorer maps. These features are available for select travel destinations in North America and Europe and are available for download on Garmin’s site for around $9.99 to $14.99.

The Garmin nuvi 1350 has many enhanced user interface features and a new slide control for menu operation. The innovative ecoRoute feature suggests fuel-efficient routes to save on petrol consumption thus saving you money in these recessionary times. Garmin’s new public transit mode allows you to navigate using buses, tramway, metro, and suburban rail systems.

With the new bright 4.3 inch widescreen display you can view maps in full details, driving directions, pictures, and more in brilliant colors. Its sunlight-readable display with white backlight is easy to read from your driving position or any other angles.

The Garmin nuvi 1300 series features includes:

- High-sensitivity GPS receiver for fast satellite lock; sleek, ultra-slim design fits in a pocket
- Pedestrian navigation capability enabled through optional CityXplorer maps; ecoRoute suggests fuel-efficient routes to save drivers money and fuel
- Pre-loaded with City Navigator NT maps for North America, including more than 6 million name-searchable points of interest
- Public transit mode allows you to navigate using buses, tramway, metro, and suburban rail systems
- Turn-by-turn directions with spoken street names (text-to-speech)
