Introduction
Over the years as I matured my bra size increased, particularly after having babies. Before that I was a size 34 bust, but after giving birth I went up in size. After menopause my bust size increased again and I found my normal bra did not fit me anymore. One day I took the plunge and went into my local underwear store and had myself properly fitted and measured. To my shock I discovered I was no where near the size I thought I was. The statistics from research carried out suggests that 70% of women are wearing the wrong bra size and many of these women have never actually been measured at all and so simply buy what they assume to be their size. Well if my experience is anything to go by then we women think we are a lot smaller than we are!
What most women do not realise is that a poor fitting bra can affect their health and well being. If for instance the bra is the wrong size it might cause severe back and shoulder pain with the constant resistance to the pressure on those areas of the body. As in the example above, bust size and shape will alter with variations of weight and hormonal change. This in turn will require a change in bra size. Because a woman’s shape may be in a constant state of flux, regular fittings about every 6 months are highly recommended. But if that does not happen then it is best to be fitted every time a new bra is purchased to ensure that you get the correct size.
To Find the Correct Bra Size
The best way to check that you are wearing the correct size bra is to go to a shop or store that offers a professional bra fitting service. A specially trained fitter will measure you to work out your correct size. The method used is to take a tape measure and place it underneath the bust and around the rib cage so that it feels secure but not uncomfortable. If the number measured in inches is an even number you add four, if it is an odd number you add five to give you your bra band size.
Once the band size is established the next measurement to find is the cup size. This is done by placing the tape measure over the fullest part of the bust and around the back all at the same level. Again this should be firm but not too tight. Your cup size is the difference between the two measurements. For example if your bust size is the same as your bra band size you are an A cup, a 1 inch difference = B cup, 2 inches = C cup, 3 inches = D cup and so on. All measurements taken are really only used as a guide to bra size because bras size can vary greatly from manufacturers to manufacturers. Sometimes a very experienced trained professional can judge your bra size by eye and will not need to use a tape measure. Because women vary so greatly in shape and size it is not only the size of bra that is important, but also the type of support required and distribution of weight. A professional fitter will be able to offer you advice on the correct type of bra to suit your needs. Then there are support bras for exercise and strapless bras and corset bras for evening gowns etc, the list is endless.

Tips for ensuring correct bra fit:-
- If you find that your bra rides up your back it may be because it has stretched. Try tightening the bra with the hook and eye fastener or buying a smaller band size (32 instead of 34).
- If the opposite is happening and your bra is too tight try another band size up or even a bra that has a wider band fitting. You can also get extra hooks to fit on the end of your current bra that will ease the tightness under the bust.
- Bulging sides can be remedied by choosing a bra that offers more cup coverage or is one band size bigger.
- If you find that your bust is bulging out of the cups then you will probably need a larger cup or band size. (Unless of course that is the fashion statement you are aiming for!)
- For ladies who have larger busts, a bra with wider shoulder straps or even padded ones will give relief from sore shoulders.
- A sagging bust line can be helped by choosing a bra that offers firmer support and avoiding stretchy fabrics.
- An under-wired bra may give problems with soreness under the bust if not correctly fitted. In which some womes prefer to wear a non-wired soft cup bra.
- Straps that slip usually mean they are too long so they can be shortened to resolve the problem. Otherwise choose a bra style with wider straps that will not slip down or buy a bra clasp to hold the straps together at the back
The Prevalence of Cancer
According to Cancer Research UK, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK and around 125 women a day are diagnosed with this particular form of cancer. It was Christmas Eve at 3:30 in the afternoon on the 405 freeway. Life seemed good and the holiday stress seemed to a minimum so far. I was just finishing up my last minute holiday errands and was on my way home when out came a vehicle right into my merging lane. No signal! In my last post I had a section regarding on page SEO and in particular some information on controlling how ranking is passed from a website. When I first started SEO I wonder why my affiliate program page was getting a ranking, then I found out about ranking flow.
The ranking or authority of a website is determined on such aspects as popularity of the website (amount of traffic), number of income links and their quality, number of pages and on page SEO factors. Before I carry on, when I talk about ranking I am not referring to google page ranking, I am referring to the general ranking of a website for all search engines.
As all search engines have their own algorithm’s for ranking websites and unfortunately they don’t share that with the general public, it is impossible to determine exactly how website ranking is worked out. The only thing that is known for certain is onpage SEO, incoming links and amount of pages of a website, play a big part in a websites ranking.
The ranking of a website is probably the most valuable asset to a site owner, it can mean the difference between making a fortune on the Internet or just making some pocket change. Why is it so important? Well the ranking determines where a website is displayed in the search engines, a better ranking equals better placement and in turn better placement equals more clicks.
Like I explained in the previous post, imagine a website main webpage is a bucket which is filled with ranking from SEO effects and there are holes at the bottom of the bucket were the ranking flows out. As ranking is such a valuable asset it’s wise to direct the ranking to were you want it to go by blocking off those holes were the rankings not needed. I am talking about such pages as contact us, terms and condition, disclaimer, category pages, terms of use and pages along those lines. The two methods I am going to use to control the ranking flow on my website are the html statement ‘nofollow’ and robots.txt. Both of these methods are very simple but very powerful in helping search engines figure out how you want them to see your website and were to direct the ranking.
The ‘nofollow’ statement tells the search engine to ignore the link it is associated with and not to pass any ranking through it. It was first created to help tackle spam comments on blogs but was quickly taken up by website owners when it became common knowledge that it was significant in controlling the flow of ranking on a website.
robots.txt is used to control the spiders that visit a website. A large part of a website traffic comes from programs called spiders, these spiders are used by thousands of companies for many different reasons on the Internet. So if a website is just left open for spiders they can eat up the bandwidth, slow a site down, look at and log information which a site owner may not want to publish and at the very worse mess up a site completely. How does robots.txt help with ranking control? Well it can be used to block off areas of a website were site owners don’t want the spiders to go and by doing so stops the flow of ranking to those areas.
The two methods above are not difficult to implement and are a good way to control the flow of ranking on a website, yet so many website owners overlook this when designing their sites. Having the power to shift ranking around a website will enable a site owner to rank the pages of their choosing with a lot less work and hassle.

Regardless of what you plan on doing, at the end of the day, you have to weigh the money you made against the amount of work that came into play getting the investment successfully wholesaled. In essence, the Mercury Grand Marquis bridged the gap between the workaday Ford and expensive Lincoln sedans. With hidden headlights and chrome trim that accented the massive, stately body, the Grand Marquis air suspension floated down the road propelled by V8 engines ranging up to 460 cubic inches (7.5 liters) in displacement. A serious downsizing took place in 1979 that saw weight drop by 700 pounds, the wheelbase shrink by 7 inches and the big V8s replaced by a 302-cubic-inch (5.0-liter) mill. The boxy-looking Grand Marquis continued like this until a major revamp for ‘92, which is covered in more detail below.
The Grand Marquis name dates back to the mid-’70s, when it signified the top trim level of the Mercury Marquis. The Marquis shared its basic platform with the full-size Ford LTD, which was later renamed the Crown Victoria. Unlike today’s version, which is identical in nearly every way to the Crown Vic, the older Grand Marquis looked more like a Lincoln and had a more luxurious cabin. As far as the modern-day Grand Marquis, the car’s most recent updating happened in 2003, when Mercury fitted it with an all-new frame, a redesigned front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, all of which improved the big Merc’s crash performance and handling. That year also saw the brief return of the Marauder, a name that harkened back to the 1960s. This blacked-out Grand Marquis featured a firmer suspension, big wheels, bucket seats and a four-cam, 302-horsepower V8.
For the full-size sedan shopper who just wants a big, comfortable V8-equipped sedan and nothing more, the current Mercury Grand Marquis air ride suspension compelling value: Prices start in the mid-$20Ks and fully loaded examples can be had for around $30K. Just keep in mind that it’s affordable for a reason. Premium features like navigation, high-powered audio and Bluetooth are nowhere to be found, and competing large sedans are much more modern in their mechanical makeup and overall design.
